With the release of the Snake motif, this marks the sixth edition of the successful Lunar RAM series.

In Chinese element theory, each zodiac sign is associated with one of five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, and water) depending on the year. Specifically, 2025 is the Year of the Wood Snake, and individuals born in this year are believed to be creative and artistic. They are also often described as talented, flexible, and wise.

This special gold coin is struck in Proof (PF) quality and comes in an elegant presentation case along with a numbered certificate of authenticity. It also includes the Chinese character for Snake, the inscription "YEAR OF THE SNAKE", the weight "5 oz", and the purity ".9999 Au". The reverse shows the effigy of King Charles III, designed by Daniel Thorne, surrounded by the twelve zodiac animals. The current year’s sign is positioned at the 12 o’clock mark above the portrait. The outer ring of the design is inscribed with "CHARLES III", "AUSTRALIA 2025", and the face value "500 DOLLARS".
