About the Silver Maple Leaf

Since its debut in 1988, the Silver Maple Leaf has firmly established itself in the world of coin collectors and investors. Behind the scenes at the Royal Canadian Mint, this Canadian coin is minted with great precision and dedication. Its shiny appearance and distinctive maple leaf motif make it not only a timeless classic, but also a sought-after item for investors around the world.

The design and uniqueness of the Silver Maple Leaf

As with the Gold Maple Leaf, the front of the coin features a maple leaf, which is also depicted on the Canadian national flag. The reverse side, as on all Commonwealth coins, features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, which is updated to reflect her appearance. After her death of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022, the reigning King Charles III has been depicted on the reverse since 2024.

The Silver Maple Leaf has a face value of 5 Canadian dollars. The coin is recognized as legal tender and is inscribed in both of Canada's national languages, English and French.
