The Royal Australian Mint's Australia Zoo Series was launched in 2020 with the Sumatran tiger. The series draws attention to the plight of endangered animal species and is aimed at newcomers and precious metal investors. This year's motif shows the giraffe, which is also the fifth and final issue in the series. The giraffe is native to Africa and is an almost endangered species due to illegal poaching and the destruction of its habitat. At Australia Zoo in Queensland, they can be seen in their African savannah habitat with their towering appearance and distinctive patterns. These graceful giants can weigh over 1,300 kilograms and grow to over 5 meters tall. Despite their impressive stature, these gentle giants are often seen in groups. The design of the gold coin

The design side of the coin shows a detailed depiction of two giraffes against the background of a landscape. A young giraffe stands in the foreground, curiously observing its surroundings. Next to it stands an adult giraffe, its long neck stretching majestically into the sky. The sun is depicted as a large circle in the sky and a few clouds lend the scene a certain depth. The words “AUSTRALIA ZOO - GIRAFFE” appear on the side of the motif. The weight and fineness “1oz .9999 Au” can also be seen.

The value side of the coin shows the portrait of King Charles III. Around the portrait is the inscription “CHARLES III” and the country of origin as well as the year of issue “AUSTRALIA 2024”. The face value “100 DOLLARS” is also shown below the portrait.
