The Design of the Gold Coin

The reverse of the 2026 Panda coin depicts a charming and harmonious scene featuring two young pandas. The two animals sit close together beside a small stream. One panda gently leans towards its companion, slightly tilting its head as if whispering a secret. The other panda holds a bamboo branch in its paw and attentively lowers its head towards its companion. The background features a natural, intricately detailed landscape with a bamboo forest, rocks and flowing water. The design also includes the fine weight "50g", the fineness "Au .999" and the face value of "800 YUAN". As with all coins in the Panda series, the obverse features the year of issue "2026" and the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. The temple is surrounded by the inscription "中华人民共和国" (People's Republic of China).
