The design of the coin
The motif side, which is partially coated with platinum, shows a large, adult red-eyed tree frog sitting on a branch and staring up at the night sky with its red eyes. The moon shines brightly and illuminates the scene, while a small butterfly flies around the moon. More leaves and branches can be seen in the background, with two more frogs on them. Also included on the design side is the inscription “AUSTRALIA AT NIGHT - RED-EYED TREE FROG”. The value side of the coin shows the portrait of King Charles III. Around the portrait is the inscription “CHARLES III”, “100 DOLLARS”, “1oz 9999 GOLD” and the year of minting “NIUE 2024”.
