Information on Gold Czech Lion 1/4 oz Proof – 2026 (incl. case and COA)

With the “Czech Lion,” the Czech Mint launched its first bullion coin in 2017. The coin is available in denominations of 10 oz, 5 oz, 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz and 1/25 oz. The national coat-of-arms animal, the Bohemian lion, has adorned the obverse (design side) of the coins ever since and stands for pride, history and national identity.

We are pleased to offer you the two limited gold Proof editions (PP) of the 2026 vintage – in 1 oz and 1/4 oz (philoro exclusive product). Proof is one of the most elaborate minting techniques and impresses with brilliant mirror-like fields and exceptional detail. Each coin is delivered in an elegant coin case with a numbered certificate of authenticity. The mintage is strictly limited to only 500 pieces.

The design of the gold coin

For the tenth year of issue, the Czech Lion motif was fundamentally redesigned and entrusted to a new designer. The coins received a completely reworked relief and continue to feature the double-tailed Bohemian lion on the obverse – a realistically rendered national symbol with the Wenceslas Crown on its head. In addition to the inscription “ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA,” the fine weight and fineness “1/4 oz Au .9999” can also be seen. The reverse of the coin shows the coin portrait of King Charles III. Also visible are the year of issue “2026,” the name of the issuing country “NIUE,” and the face value “10 DOLLARS” (NZD).
