The giraffe is native to Africa and is an almost endangered species due to illegal poaching and the destruction of its habitat. At Australia Zoo in Queensland, they can be seen in their African savannah habitat with their towering appearance and distinctive patterns. The design of the coin

The design side of the coin shows a detailed depiction of a mother giraffe and her calf. The animals stand side by side, their heads almost touching, suggesting an intimate connection between the two. An African savannah landscape with trees and mountains can be seen in the background. The lettering “AUSTRALIA ZOO - GIRAFFE” is located to the side of the motif. The weight and the fineness “1oz .999 Ag” can also be seen.

The value side of the coin shows the portrait of King Charles III. Around the portrait is the inscription “CHARLES III” and the country of origin as well as the year of minting “AUSTRALIA 2024”. The face value “1 DOLLAR” is also shown below the portrait.
