The exclusive King of the North issue in 1 oz fine silver is dedicated to the most famous predator from the northern polar regions, the polar bear. The coin is the successor to the very successful and popular first issue King of the South. The polar bear is the largest living land predator, measuring up to 3 meters in length and can weigh up to 600 kg. It is descended from the Siberian brown bear and spends most of its time living on the pack ice on the coasts. These strong hunters are also fantastic swimmers and can be on the move for days at a time. Their huge paws act like paddles, while their hind legs are used like a rudder.
This extraordinary silver coin is struck in proof quality and comes with a coin case and certificate of authenticity. The proof (PF) is particularly sought after by collectors and is one of the most elaborate methods of producing a coin. The design of the silver coin
The king of the north - the polar bear - is enthroned on the design side in a majestic frontal view. Its imposing roar, immortalized in the side profile, echoes through the icy landscape. The precise & detailed embossing in ultra-high relief brings his dense fur and fine facial features to life. The enormous mouth underlines the polar bear's undisputed dominance. A stylized bear portrait with soft lines adorns the background and underlines its thoughtful but proud charisma. The crowning glory is the inscription “KING OF THE NORTH”, with the “O” artfully replaced by the outline of the polar region.
With razor-sharp claws, the polar bear appears to be tearing the coin apart and holding the token in its icy grip. The ultra-high relief allows the claws to protrude from the coin and emphasizes the raw power of the bear. The portrait of King Charles III is enthroned in the center, surrounded by the inscription “CHARLES III”, the country of origin “COOK ISLANDS”, the face value “5 DOLLARS” and the year “2024”. Detailed ornaments adorn the background and form a noble frame for the King of the Arctic.
