Silver lucky token 2027 “Elephant”

Information about Silver Lucky Token 2027 "Elephant"

In keeping with tradition, the Austrian Mint is once again issuing a special silver lucky token to celebrate the turn of the year 2026/2027. This time, the beloved lucky pig Kurti embarks on a special journey to India, where he has taken a seat on the back of an elephant. While Kurti tries to keep his balance, the friendly giant welcomes the new year with its trunk raised high. Particularly in Hindu and Buddhist traditions, the elephant is regarded as a symbol of good fortune, wisdom and strength. With its calm and composed nature, the elephant also represents serenity, perseverance and inner strength - qualities we wish for our loved ones in the coming year. The lucky token is made of 900 silver and is struck in the highest minting quality, Proof. This elaborate minting technique ensures exceptionally fine details and an attractive contrast between polished and frosted surfaces. Proof quality is particularly sought after by collectors and is considered one of the most sophisticated coin production methods.

As the saying goes, happiness doubles when it is shared. With this in mind, the Lucky Token 2027 makes a thoughtful gift for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, allowing you to wish your loved ones good fortune, optimism and many wonderful moments in the year ahead.

The Design of the Lucky Token

The obverse of the token features the lucky pig Kurti riding on the back of an Indian elephant. While Kurti sits on the elephant's head, the gentle giant raises its trunk as if greeting the viewer. A raised trunk is traditionally regarded as a special symbol of good luck. The detailed design is surrounded by the inscription "PROSIT NEUJAHR 2027" (Happy New Year 2027). The reverse of the token features the traditional German good luck rhyme: "Bin ich auch nur klein und rund, bring doch Glück ich jede Stund’." (Though I may be small and round, I bring good luck all year round). Three four-leaf clovers complement the inscription and emphasize the symbolic character of this special New Year's greeting.
