The badge is depicted on a shield. The motif is framed by the lettering “TUDOR DRAGON” and the year of issue “2024”. The value side of the coin shows the portrait of King Charles III. Around the portrait is the inscription “CHARLES III D G REX F D”, meaning CHARLES III DEI GRATIA REX FIDEI DEFENSOR (Charles the Third, by the Grace of God, King, Defender of the Faith). There is also the face value “2 POUNDS” and the initials “MJ” of the British sculptor Martin Jennings, whose portrait of King Charles adorns the value side.
