The Royal Mint commemorates the ten heraldic beasts lining the Moat Bridge at Hampton Court Palace with its Royal Tudor Beasts coin series. The beasts were created at the request of Henry VIII and symbolise the royal lineage as well as the union between Henry VIII and his third wife, Jane Seymour. With the 2027 Completer Coin, the successful series comes to an end: for the first time, all ten Royal Tudor Beasts are depicted together on a single coin. The ten designs featured throughout the series are The Seymour Panther, The Lion of England, The Yale of Beaufort, The Bull of Clarence, The Tudor Dragon, The Greyhound of Richmond, The Royal Dragon, The Seymour Unicorn, The Queen's Panther and The Queen’s Lion. The Completer Coin brings together these important heraldic symbols in one final design, creating a distinctive conclusion to the Royal Tudor Beasts series.

The exclusive gold coin is struck from 999.9 fine gold, weighs 31.21 g and is issued in the highest minting quality, Proof. Due to its elaborate production process, Proof quality is particularly sought after by collectors. With a maximum mintage of just 300 coins worldwide, the 1 oz gold edition is one of the most strictly limited versions of the series.

The design of the gold coin

The reverse was designed by artist David Lawrence and brings together all ten Royal Tudor Beasts on a single coin. The heraldic beasts are arranged in a circular composition, once again featuring all of the designs represented throughout the series. Tudor symbolism takes centre stage in the design, emphasising the connection to the history of the House of Tudor and Hampton Court Palace. The obverse of the coin features the portrait of King Charles III. Surrounding the portrait is the inscription "CHARLES III D G REX F D". The face value "100 POUNDS" and the initials “MJ” of British sculptor Martin Jennings, whose portrait of King Charles appears on the obverse, are also featured.
