The craft of loden production continues to this day, including at the world’s oldest loden mill in Ramsau am Dachstein, where loden has been fulled for almost 600 years. The international fashion world has also long since embraced the fabric: modern interpretations have appeared on major catwalks, impressively demonstrating that loden is far more than tradition – it embodies timelessness and style.

The motif side features a woman wearing traditional attire. The bodice of her dirndl is decorated at the front with an embroidered and laced stomacher, while a loden shawl is draped over her shoulders. In the background, a horizontal decorative band inspired by traditional bodice embroidery runs across the design. On coins struck in Proof quality, the blouse, dress, loden shawl and walking stick are colour-printed. The value side depicts a detailed section of a so-called stomacher featuring delicate floral embroidery. The face value “10 EURO” and the year of issue “2026” are also shown on the coin. The inscription “REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH” completes the design.
