The traditional craft of loden production continues to this day. This is also true of the world’s oldest loden mill in Ramsau am Dachstein, where loden has been fulled for almost 600 years. The international fashion industry has also long since embraced the material: modern interpretations have appeared on major catwalks, impressively demonstrating that loden represents far more than tradition – it embodies timelessness and style.

The motif side features a woman wearing traditional clothing. The bodice of her dirndl is decorated at the front with an embroidered and laced stomacher, while a loden shawl is draped over her shoulders. In the background, a horizontal decorative band inspired by traditional bodice embroidery runs across the design. The value side depicts a detailed section of a so-called stomacher featuring delicate floral embroidery. The face value “10 EURO” and the year of issue “2026” are also shown on the coin. The inscription “REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH” completes the design.
