This exclusive 1 oz silver coin is part of the Australia at Night coin series. It features some of Australia's most fascinating nocturnal animals. The eleventh issue in the series is dedicated to the Red-Eyed Tree Frog. This charming inhabitant of the Australian rainforest is known for its striking appearance and spirited character. The nocturnal amphibians live mainly in the coastal regions of northern and eastern Australia and spend their days camouflaged in the foliage, coming to life at night with their distinctive calls.
The coin is made of 999 fine silver and looks particularly impressive with its black proof background. The exceptional silver coin is produced in the highest minting quality proof and is strictly limited to a worldwide mintage of just 1,000 pieces. The proof (PP) minting quality is particularly sought after by collectors and is one of the most elaborate methods of producing a coin. This eye-catching silver coin is supplied in the original coin case with accompanying certificate of authenticity.
The design of the silver coin
The design side of the coin shows a large, adult red-eyed tree frog in the center, sitting on a branch and staring into the night sky with its red eyes. The moon shines brightly and illuminates the scene, while a small butterfly flies around the moon. More leaves and branches can be seen in the background, on which two more frogs can be seen. The nocturnal nature is emphasized by the exquisite Black Proof surface. Also included on the design side is the inscription “AUSTRALIA AT NIGHT - RED-EYED TREE FROG”. The value side of the coin shows the portrait of King Charles III. Around the portrait is the inscription “CHARLES III”, “ONE DOLLAR”, “1oz 999 SILVER” and the year of minting “NIUE 2024”.
